Tamil Nadu: Two die in Sattur cracker unit explosion

CHENNAI: Two persons were killed in an explosion which was triggered at a cracker unit near Sattur in the Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
According to sources, the deceased were identified as Murugesan and Sundaraj.
On Thursday morning, Murugesan and Sundaraj were involved in mixing chemicals for the manufacture of crackers at the cracker unit near Thulukankuruchi, Sattur. When they were mixing chemicals, an explosion was triggered due to friction.
In the incident, the working shed in which the chemicals were being mixed was completely demolished and both the employees died.
The Vembakottai police are conducting the investigation.
