A plane carrying the remains of former DRC opposition leader Etienne Tshisekedi arrived in Kinshasa from Belgium for a funeral in his home country, images on state RTNC television showed on Thursday.

Tshisekedi, a revered opponent of authoritarianism in the Democratic Republic of Congo, died in Belgium in 2017. His son, now President Felix Tshisekedi, had vowed to repatriate his remains.
