Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri, will host the 11th edition of the placement drive ‘Alva’s Pragati 2019’ at its Vidyagiri campus for two days from June 21.

It will witness the participation of top recruiters representing major sectors such as Information Technology, IT-enabled services, manufacturing, healthcare and pharma, sales and retail, automobile, banking and finance, hospitality, education and NGOs, foundation chairman M. Mohan Alva said recently. These sectors offer a large number of openings for graduates and postgraduates in various streams such as medical and para-medical, engineering, arts, commerce and management, basic sciences, nursing, ITI, diploma, skilled manpower with pre university, SSLC and other qualifications, he said.

The objective of organising the drive in Moodbidri is to help youth in rural and semi-urban areas, he said. Those interested will have to compulsorily register online on http://alvaspragati.com for free. It is open on both days. So far, 58 companies have registered and additionally 187 have confirmed participation.

Manufacturing sector, featuring Kirloskar Toyota Textile Machinery Pvt. Ltd., Toyota Industries Engine India, Ajax Fiori, Nexteer, Ace Manufacturing, Bill Forge has a large number of job openings this year for BE Mechanical and Diploma. Honda, Schneider Electric, Tafe, Yazaki and many more are hiring ITIs. Prominent Gulf MNCs have confirmed their participation, he said.

IT recruiters such as Amazon, EY, Thomson Reuters, Oracle, Mphasis and few other major IT companies have confirmed. Companies hiring candidates with nursing, BPT, MLT qualifications include Cloudnine Hospitals, Wockhardt Hospitals, Apollo Healthcare and few others.

In the Alva’s Pragati conducted last year, 183 companies and 8,347 students had participated and 1,326 spot offers were made. In all, 3,947 students had been shortlisted. He said that foundation will take care of accommodation and logistics.
