Nagpur: Two teenagers were among three persons who surrendered at MIDC police station in the early hours of Thursday after they had allegedly murdered their friend with stones and an iron road in Gittikhadan on Kalmeshwar road. Body of Ankit Tiwari, 22, was later recovered by Gittikhadan police after they were informed of the murder by their MIDC counterparts.
The accused have been identified as Vishal Sonone alias Deharwal, 19, Sunil Deharwal, 21 and Rahul Deharwal, 19.
According to police, all four used to work at a petrol pump in MIDC area. Two days ago, Tiwari had forcibly taken Sunil’s bike for a ride and brought it back in damaged condition over which the duo got into a fight. Tiwari had then beaten up Sunil and gave the bike back. Tiwari regularly used to boss over the trio over which they had a grudge against him.
On Wednesday, the three called Tiwari to sort out the matter but he again beat them up. They then decided to eliminate him. They invited him out for dinner and drinks. All of them had a few drinks in MIDC area. The three then took Tiwari on a ride and attacked him with an iron road and stones in a secluded area.
They then approached MIDC police and surrendered. The accused were later handed over to Gittikhadan police who recovered Tiwari’s body around 5.30am. The body was sent to Mayo hospital where post-mortem was conducted on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Gittikhadan police arrested the accused under Sections 302 and 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The accused were produced before court on Thursday and cops have procured their custody for two days.
