Drawing inspiration from everything around

Thiruvananthapuram: “Animals amaze me the most. The different kind of animals which I see around and those in cartoons inspire me to paint,” said Ishan Sanjay, a nine-year old who has depicted a venomous snake and a dinosaur in acrylic. Ishan’s is one among the over 500 paintings done in water colour, oil and acrylic, besides sketches by pencil, knife paintings, Tanjore paintings and murals – all put on display at the exhibition titled ‘Pinneyum’. The expo features works of TINT Academy.
Eighteen-year-old Apoorva M said her works originated from the emotions of people. “I feel that all these emotions can be best depicted in paintings.” Sachin kumar, who has turned 19, has focussed more on landscapes and sceneries. “Because there’s nothing more beautiful in this world than our nature, which is forever my inspiration,” he said.

The 9th exhibition of TINT academy is being held at Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery at Vyloppilly Samskriti Bhavan and will be open for public from 10am to 6pm till Friday. “Art and creativity can bring about many good changes in children. I appreciate all the members of the academy and most importantly the parents who encourage these little minds,” said artist Karakkamandapam Vijayakumar, while inaugurating the exhibition.
The paintings put on display and their copies are up for sale and the proceeds will go to the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) here.
