Man punched in the face at restaurant remains in Brisbane hospital

A man who hit his head on a concrete pavement after he was allegedly punched in the face outside a restaurant south of Brisbane is fighting for life in hospital.

Police said the 29-year-old from Daisy Hill was at the restaurant on Yarrabilba Drive in Logan when a 23-year-old from NSW arrived about 10pm and the pair started fighting.

Police said the Daisy Hill man was punched in the face, which caused him to fall backwards and hit his head before losing consciousness.

The man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition with critical care and the high acuity response paramedics on board.

The 23-year-old man was charged with grievous bodily harm and would appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday.
