After two releases — Total Dhamaal and Kalank — this year, Madhuri Dixit will be back on TV to judge Dance Deewane, a show, which has three generations battling it out with their performances. “Last season, we had so much fun, all three generations performed well and their stories were so interesting that I felt I should be back,” says the actress flashing her million-dollar smile.

Ask her if she has signed any new films and she says, “This year, I already had two releases and now there’s the dance show. At the same time, I am reading scripts.” So, what kind of film does she want to do now? “There is no particular kind of film, but it should be well-written, have a good director and shot well. it is also important how it is promoted and put out,” she replies.

Of her two films this year, Total Dhamaal did a business of Rs 150 crore, but Kalank did not live up to expectations. Do success and failure still affect her? “I have been working long enough in the industry to know that you can’t be carried away by success or be affected by failure. It’s a kind of teaching — you learn from your successes as well as failures — and you move on,” she philosophises.

Madhuri, however, feels that it is a great time for women to be in films, today. “Women are written as characters and not as caricatures,” she says adding that if the film is well-written and well-mounted it will be a success, whether it has a big star or not.
