GHAZIABAD: A 21-year-old delivery boy, working with an online food delivery company, suffered bullet injuries in his neck when a stray bullet hit him in
Vijay Nagar’s Kailash Nagar area on Tuesday night.
The youth
Naveen Sharma was accompanied by his cousin and his friend when he was injured but none of them could tell who and from where the bullet was fired.
Naveen belongs to Hapur and has been staying at his maternal uncle Ajay Sharma’s house in Kailash Nagar for the past few days. He had joined the food delivery company recently after completing his graduation.
Around 9.30pm on Tuesday, Naveen along with Ajay’s son Varun and his friend Anees had stepped out of the house to walk their pet dog in the area. As they had covered some 300-400 meters, they heard a gunshot sound and Naveen subsequently fell on the ground. A bullet had went through his neck and came out piercing his mouth.
The youth’s uncle said that while Naveen tried to rush towards the house, Varun and Anees followed a man who vanished in the darkness. Naveen was rushed to a nearby private hospital, from where he was shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar on Wednesday morning. Ajay said a CT scan was conducted upon Naveen to assess the damage caused by the injury.
“The victim’s family is yet to file any complaint in the matter,” said Shyamveer Singh, the
SHO of Vijay Nagar police station.
