Takshashila builder’s 9,300 sq ft illegal construction in school razed

Surat: After Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) started its crackdown on all illegal constructions in the city post Takshashila arcade fire on May 24, on Wednesday, civic body officials demolished 9,300 sq feet of illegal RCC structure built by Savaji Tapi Paghdal, one of the builders of Takshashila arcade, who is in police custody at present.
This construction was found in Gamtal of NanaVarachha in Kaushal Vidyabhavan on the third and fourth floors, which were constructed illegally with RCC plaster and steel fabrication. Officials also removed illegal encroachments by covering school passages and recovered Rs 2 lakh as administrative charges on the spot from the owners of such illegal properties.
