Share market update: Media shares decline; Dish TV falls nearly 4%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading in the negative zone in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dish TV India (down 3.85 per cent), Zee Entertainment Enterprises (down 3.35 per cent), Network 18 Media & Investments (down 3.34 per cent) and TV18 Broadcast (down 1.68 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

Navneet Education (down 1.44 per cent), Sun TV Network (down 1.15 per cent), PVR (down 0.90 per cent) and Den Networks (down 0.66 per cent) too were trading in the red.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.71 per cent down at 2207.35 around 12:36 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 26.90 points at 11,901.85 while the BSE Sensex was down 96.98 points at 39,652.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, Sun Pharma, NMDC, PC Jeweller, SBI, ICICI Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam and DHFL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
