Congress leader K. Muraleedharan has said that time is ripe for reconstituting the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) which is buoyed by the massive victory registered by the Congress in the Lok Sabha poll.
Speaking at a meet-the-press programme of the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club on Tuesday, Mr. Muraleedharan said he was all for doing away with ‘jumbo committees’ of the KPCC. At the same time, all sections of society must be represented on the panels.
He lashed out at party colleague A.P. Abdullakutty for heaping praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Terming the remarks unacceptable, Mr. Muraleedharan, who won the Vadakara Lok Sabha seat, said they were against the party’s political stance and would be examined by the political affairs committee of the KPCC.
