Mumbai: The film, My Name Is RaGa, will now be screened after the release of the biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week. There was opposition to the screening of the film on Rahul Gandhi just before the Lok Sabha polls. The Modi biopic was released on May 24, but audiences seemed to have rejected it, as was reported on May 26, drawing barely Rs 2.25-2.50 crore in earnings on the first day.
The Rahul Gandhi biopic is being directed by Rupesh Paul and the unit is confident of making money. Paul wanted his film to release earlier, but since he was denied permission by the Election Commission, it was postponed. Paul, in fact, said, more than the ECI, Rahul’s supporters and the Cong party were against the film. “Earlier, the Congress party people were scared of the Modi film, but now obviously they aren’t,” said Paul.
