College student raped by two men, dies

Vadodara: A college student residing in a village of Santrampur taluka in Mahisagar district was allegedly raped by two persons. She later died at a hospital on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, the 22-year-old woman was walking on the road in her village when two persons Gopal Parghi and Rakesh Bamaniya approached her at around 9.15am. They took the woman to an isolated place where one of them raped her.
The girl reportedly started bleeding heavily due to the incident and the duo panicked. They took her to a hospital, but the girl died there. The police rushed to the hospital and after gathering the details of the incident nabbed the accused duo.
The rape survivor’s body was brought to the SSG Hospital at Vadodara to conduct an autopsy to ascertain the reason for her death. Her mother registered an offence regarding the incident at the Santrampur police station. The accused were booked for rape and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
