Bengaluru: 1 held for selling fake branded bags

BENGALURU: With schools and colleges reopening, substandard bags flaunting famous brand names are being sold widely in the city. Commercial Street police recently arrested a man who was selling bags with fake Wildcraft brand logo.
Faizal, 42, owner of a shop named Merino near Jumma Masjid in Shivajinagar, sold bags bearing fake Wildcraft tags. During the raid, police seized more than 10 bags. They suspect a bigger network in the business.

Faizal used to get bags from a distributor who sold the fake merchandise to several other shops. The bags looked almost like the original ones, but were sold at cheaper price.
A case has been registered under various sections of Copyright Act.
