Human remains have been found at a Melbourne beach. 

A passerby discovered bones on rocks at Brighton beach near Mytton Grove just before 1pm on Wednesday.

Photos taken at the scene show police wheeling away the remains in a body bag on a stretcher.

A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed to Daily Mail Australia the remains have been examined and belong to a human.  

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
