A dad with a 15-page criminal history has desperately pleaded to be released from jail to watch his son's debut in next week's State of Origin.

Siaosi Teisina Fifita, father of football star and Queensland's youngest recruit, David Fifita,19, applied for bail after being charged with seven offences including drug possession.

Fifita Snr was on parole when he was arrested and had appeared in court multiple times since the 1990s.

Fifita Snr was arrested on May 11 after allegedly being seen throwing a bag over a fence that contained a substance suspected to be ice.

Police also say he was speeding while driving a car that had two different license plates registered to other vehicles.

He applied for bail from Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday through a video call from custody.

'I wanna get out for the second State of Origin or something,' he told the court.

Fifita Snr also said he had been 'doing the right thing' and his violation of parole was a minor slip up.

Fifita's request was denied after having breached bail conditions and having a lengthy criminal history (pictured is his son David with mother and grandmother)

Fifita Snr had appeared before a court multiple times and had breached bail conditions as well as not showing up when required.

Magistrate Grace Kahlert denied his request to watch his son play in the upcoming State of Origin as he was at a high risk of re-offending due to his criminal past.

Siaosi Teisina Fifita will return to court on June 19.
