The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the nodal Ministry for the welfare of elderly persons, has called for nominations for the national award, ‘Vayoshrestha Samman’ in 13 different categories.
The award has been instituted to felicitate distinguished senior citizens and institutions working for the welfare of all senior citizens. The award will be presented on October 1, which is celebrated every year as the International Day of Older Persons.
All eligible institutions and individuals as per the guidelines notified by the Ministry who wish to apply can send their proposals to the Social Welfare Department, No. 1, Saradhambal Nagar, Ellaipillaichavady, Puducherry, before June 14.
