Arm stamping row: Boy shifts to govt school

Ludhiana: On a day when the student, whose arm was stamped at a private school a few days back, took admission in a government school, the district education officer (secondary) submitted an inquiry report regarding the incident at a private school to DPI and Ludhiana deputy commissioner.
Inquiry officers had submitted the report on Monday evening to DEO Swaranjit Kaur.
A two-member team — Jagdev Singh, principal from Government Senior Secondary School, Mundiyan Kalan; and Jaswinder Singh from Government Senior Secondary School, Nupur Bet — had conducted the inquiry.
The school had put a stamp on 13-year-old boy to remind his parents to pay his and his sister’s pending fees.

The DEO secondary said, “Even if the school principal has apologised for the act, the matter is sensitive. I have forwarded the report to education department and DC. They will further probe the matter.”
Meanwhile, the student took admission in Government Senior Secondary School, Mundiya Kalan. The father of the 13-year-old boy said, “My child was happy to attend the government school. He was scared to attend his previous school following the incident.”
