Actor Rajinikanth hailed praise on Narendra Modi's victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, at a press meet in Chennai today. Rajinikanth also said that after Nehru, Indira and Vajpayee, Modi has established himself as a great leader in the country.

Rajinikanth said that the government will prioritise inter-linking of rivers like Godavari and Krishna with Kaveri.

During the meet, he appreciated Kamal Haasan's MNM party for getting 4 per cent vote share in the elections, he said that it is a big acheivement for the first time.

"Rahul Gandhi should not resign, he has to stand firm and lead the party," said Rajinikanth on being asked about Rahul Gandhi's resignation, in conversation with reporters today.

He also said that he is going to attend the swearing-in of PM Narendra Modi.
