THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai has condemned the decision of Kerala Muslim Jamaath council to observe a statewide mourning day on May 30, when the newly elected NDA government headed by Narendra Modi will be swearing in.
"The Jamaath council's decision is most objectionable and condemnable," Pillai said in a statement issued here on Monday.
The BJP state president exuded hope that the 'enlightened and patriotic' Muslim community would oppose and defeat such 'anti-national' moves by some community leaders.

"This move is aimed at destroying the communal harmony and the general public should be able to realize such hideous attempts," Pillai said.
Kerala Muslim Jamaath council president A Pookkunju had in a news conference held in Alappuzha on Saturday said that the council would observe mourning day on May 30 when Modi will be sworn in for a second term.
