Haryana: Minister Anil Vij inaugurates projects worth Rs 17 crore

AMBALA: Haryana cabinet minister Anil Vij on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of Machhonda drain and Machhonda link drain projects worth Rs 17 crore at Machhonda village under his Ambala Cantonment legislative constituency.
Angered over the ignorance of development issues at their village, some youths of Machhonda village had protested against Vij on May 7, five days before the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana, following which Vij had allegedly abused one of the protestors.
Now after the model code of conduct is removed, the first job that minister Vij has done is laying the foundation stone of the project at Machhonda village.

As per the ground situation at Machhonda, during the last year rainy season, due to the absence of the proper drainage system, the water got logged into the agricultural fields and the village ponds were also overflowing and the villagers were facing inconveniences.
Vij during his visit to village said, “There is no shortage of funds for the development works and all the works will be completed within the allotted period of time. The irrigation department has decided a time period of one year to complete this Machhonda drain project. With the development of this drainage system, residents of Machhonda, Chanderpuri and Sundernagar areas will be delivered a permanent solution to the problem of drainage.”
