Local Scouts Place Flags at National Cemetery

Boy scouts and girl scouts woke up early this morning to place over 40-thousand american flags at chattanooga national cemetery.

This special community service project includes: a flag presentation ceremony and salute by a veteran's honor guard.

Scouts and their families had the opportunity to honor our veterans by placing american flags on all 48-thousand graves.

All youth participants received a commemorative patch for their community service.

"it has become an annual event for us that is very important , it's very close to the mission, and our duty to god and our country.

So it's something our youth take pride in" the cemetery says they are in need of volunteers for after memorial day to help collect flags.
