JALANDHAR: Levelling serious allegation against the
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), former chief of the party's Delhi unit Manjit Singh GK has said that gurudwara funds were misused in elections.
GK, who was also head of the Delhi Sikh
Gurdwara Management Committee till recently, claimed on Monday,"I had said in the meeting of the core committee of the party that gurdwara funds were misused in the election. Let these members answer about it in the presence of
Guru Granth Sahib."
He, however, refused to elaborate further and added that he would throw more light on it in future. "I raised the issue of misuse of gurdwara funds in elections in the meeting of the core committee of Delhi unit of SAD around two months back when they called me for explanation on certain issues," he revealed.
Opponents of SAD had been alleging misuse of gurdwara funds for political purposes but this is for the first time that a former top leader of the party and gurudwara management body has levelled such allegation.
