With the new academic year about to start from June 12 and the private educational institutions intensifying their campaign to enroll students into their schools, the government schools have also launched a campaign on the most popular social media in the erstwhile Karimnagar district.
With the slogan of “private badi voddu — sarkaru badi muddu” (Say no to private schools and yes to government schools), some of the managements of government schools have launched the campaign educating the people to join their children in the government schools for quality education, free books, uniforms, midday meals, spacious classrooms and playground and extra-curricular activities for all round development of the child.
The ZPHS Pathipaka village in Dharmaram mandal in Peddapalli had prepared a video of 3.2 minutes duration and posted it on the social media. It highlights the results of the ZPHS including cent per cent results in SSC, including one candidate securing 9.8 GPA. It educates about the facilities offered to the students in government school including training in martial arts and regular sporting activity, among others.
Another video posted by Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School in Vannaram village of Manakondur mandal talks about the English medium education being provided by qualified teachers from first to seventh class.
In another posting, the three girl students compare the facilities and education of both the government and private schools.
The girl students argue that only the government schools have qualified teachers to provide comprehensive education of the students.
They said that the midday meal was being served with fine quality rice, three eggs in a week and vegetable biryani.
All these video postings have gone viral on social media on the eve of the “Badi baata”, which would be launched by the government for enrollment of students into the government schools. Still some other government schools have also decided to launch the social media campaign to increase enrollment into government schools.
“We will be doing the Badi baata programme by door-to-door visits and distribution of pamphlets for enrollment. But it was routine campaign and we have decided to use the popular and effective social media to increase the enrollment and accordingly prepared short videos about the achievements of the government schools and posted on social media. We got a good response,” said ZPHS Pathikapaka headmaster Mohd Shaikh.
“We have chosen this cheapest means as mobile has become common and used by everyone in the villages. Through social media we are reaching a larger of section of society and explaining about our achievements very effectively,” he claimed.
