Chandigarh, May 27, 2019: In a first of its kind meeting, the Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar, today interacted with the Post-Doctoral Fellows (PDF) of the University from a cross-section of departments. The meeting is a part of the attempt to bring the PDF community of university together and work towards higher research goals and find ways of contributing to the university in a more constructive manner. PDF’s from different departments including University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development, Centre for Public Health, Anthropology, University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, University Business School, Botany, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences among others were present in the meeting.
The PDF’s shall be shortly hosting a seminar for PhD scholars of PU to apprise them about procedure and ideas to apply for Post-Doctorate through various agencies in India (under various schemes). The PDF’s shall also start a quarterly digital newsletter related to the research and academic activities of the Post-Doctoral fellows- a unique initiative to update the academic community of PU about the activities undertaken by all PDF’s.
It was suggested by the VC to dedicate a special volume of the research papers to PU PDF’s, to be released at the 550th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
