“The Project Lenovo comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X55 5G modem”

At the ongoing Computex in Taipei, Lenovo has introduced the Project Limitless PC. The Chinese tech giant is touting the device as the world’s first 5G always-on, always-connected notebook, powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8cx 5G compute platform. The laptop is currently in the development process and the company has only showcased a prototype version of the device at the event.

The Lenovo Project Limitless notebook is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which offers Cat. 22 LTE connectivity, i.e. the laptop is capable of achieving the download speeds of up to 2.5Gbps. The Snapdragon 8cx 5G platform on board promises to provide immersive user experience, multi-gigabit LTE support, multi-day battery life, and enterprise-level apps and security features.

When we say limitless connectivity, we mean it – 5G PC users the world-over will save time, stay productive, or get online entertainment from nearly anywhere, at any time”, said Johnson Jia, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Business of Intelligent Devices Group, Lenovo.

Unfortunately, Lenovo hasn’t yet revealed the complete specifications of the Project Limitless laptop. However, we do know that design-wise, the notebook will sport slim bezels, a large display, and a fingerprint sensor placed right below the keyboard. The company is expected to reveal more details about the connected PC in early 2020.
