GANDHINAGAR:
Amit Shah, national BJP president and the new member of Parliament from Gandhinagar
Lok Sabha constituency addressed BJP party workers on Sunday in the presence of PM Narendra Modi. Shah opened his speech by saying, “I appeal to all workers to pray for the departed souls of the 22 teenage girls and boys who lost their lives in the
Surat fire tragedy. We stand with their families.”
Shah said, “PM Modi has come to Khanpur from where BJP started its journey, beginning with the win in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation elections. PM Modi assumed leadership inf both the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls in which all 26 seats from
Gujarat were swept up by the BJP.”
“Not only wins, but the people of Gujarat gave huge victory margins in all 26 seats,” Shah said.
Speaking about Modi’s contribution Shah said, “Narendrabhai led a ‘Vikas Yatra’ (journey of development) in Gujarat and then replicated it across the country.”
Continuing in the same vein, Shah said, “Gujarat was once known as a state of curfews where disturbances were faced during the Rath Yatra. Narendra bhai had made Gujarat curfew-free in his chief ministerial stint between 2001 and 2014. Gone are the days when the newspapers printed pictures of water tankers. Narendra bhai gave his efforts and now the waters of Narmada reache each and every village of Gujarat.’’
Shah further said,“Narendrabhai took India’s name to the global community.”
Speaking about the party’s popularity, Shah said, “From Kamakhya to Kutch and from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, BJP’s development is seen everywhere.”
He said, “I also express my hearty gratitude to the people of Gandhinagar who elected me from this seat.’’
