LUCKNOW: Ending the eight-year-old wait of aspiring principals, Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board (UPSESSB) will finally announce the result of the exam conducted to fill 925 vacant posts of principals in schools across the state in July. The recruitment was delayed due to court cases, internal disputes and row over interview panel.
In 2011, the board had invited applications for filling the posts.
The process was mired in controversy in 2014 when applicants alleged that then chairman Asharam Yadav had started conducting interviews without sending admit cards to candidates.
Following protests and an investigation, he was also removed.
Anita Yadav replaced Yadav in 2015 but some aspirants moved the high court alleging that she does not possess the required qualification to take interviews and was removed. She was replaced by Sanil Kumar whose appointment too was set aside by Allahabad high court on October 6, 2015.

Hira Lal Gupta took charge in 2016 but in 2017, the Yogi government disbanded the board following allegations of corruption. The board was reconstituted in May 2018.
UPSESSB secretary Divyakant Shukla said, “In compliance of the recent court order on interviews, we have decided to announce the result in July.”
