‘I’ll polish Bittu’s shoes if he cleans up Buddha Nullah’, says Titu

Ludhiana: Life for comedian Titu Bania, who contested the Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate, returned to its humdrum routine on Sunday. After a long gap, he got time to relax with his family members, and took time out to play carrom with his kids, and jesting around.
But even as he was relaxing, he could not resist releasing a barb at the re-elected MP Ravneet Singh Bittu. Congratulating Bittu on his win in the Lok Sabha polls, he said the MP should fulfil his promises, especially his claim of getting Buddah Nullah cleaned. “I will fully support Bittu in doing development works, and if he succeeds in cleaning up Buddah Nullah and turns it into a river, I will polish his shoes,” he quipped.
Expressing happiness over his own performance in the elections, where he finished seventh out of 22 candidates by securing 2,726 votes, he said: “Elections came as a blessing, as I have became even more popular with the people now.”

Speaking to TOI, Titu said: “Finally, after a stretch of almost 30 days, I have got time to relax with my family members. Due to elections, I was busy for more than a month in campaigning, and not able to spare time for my family members. Since I have no other source of income except my shop — where I repair electronic items — I re-opened it on Friday. As far as my performance in the elections is concerned, I think I have done pretty well, as I have come seventh out of 22 candidates, which is a big achievement for me. My family members are overwhelmed with the love and support I got from the people of Ludhiana.”
Talking about his future plans, he said: “There is no doubt I will contest the next MP elections too from Ludhiana. In fact, I will use the experience of these elections to help me increase my supporter base in and around Ludhiana, and I will keep raising important issues concerning the district, regardless of my defeat.”
