An arrest warrant has been issued for disgraced former NRL star Ben Barba after he failed to appear in court.
The former premiership player and Dally M Medallist was required to attend Mackay Court House on Monday to face two counts of public nuisance for allegedly throwing rocks at his long time partner outside the Ville Resort-Casino in Townsville over the Australia Day long weekend.
The alleged incident with the mother of his four children Ainslie Currie resulted in the termination of his $300,000 contract with the North Queensland Cowboys without playing a single game for club.

Barba was also deregistered from the NRL with a lifetime ban.
There is also a new charge of obstructing police on May 6 at East Mackay.
Nine News reported on Monday night that Ms Currie called police to their home three weeks ago in relation to a domestic related incident.
When police arrived, it's alleged Barba failed to comply with instructions by officers to remain outside the home.
Barba didn't appear in court as lawyer Campbell McCallum couldn't catch his morning flight to represent him due to a family emergency, the Townsville Bulletin reported.

'He should have been here regardless of his solicitor,' Magistrate John Smith told the court.
'He should have told Mr Barba you be there because I won't be.'
Magistrate Smith issued an arrest warrant to remain on file, which will be executed if Barba fails to attend court by 11am on Tuesday morning.
It's understood Barba will plead guilty to all three charges, Nine News reported.
Mr McCallum told Seven News both he and Barba will be at court at 9am on Tuesday.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Mr McCallum for further comment.

Daily Mail Australia revealed he took up a temporary job as a metal worker earning $20-an-hour at Statewide Sales and Service in his hometown of Mackay shortly after his lucrative NRL contract was torn up.
Barba was initially given a lifeline by the Cowboys to return to the NRL this season for the first time since he was sacked by the Cronulla Sharks for testing positive to cocaine days after the club's historic first premiership in 2016.
At a previous court appearance in March, Barba told reporters he felt free now that he was no longer playing in the NRL and was looking forward to being 'a normal human being' and enjoying his new job as a labourer.
'As bad as the situation is I've never felt so free that I can get on with my life without the pressure of footy,' he said.
He now plays soccer for the Mackay Premier League side Mackay Rangers.
