PATNA: The private and government buildings surrounding the historic
Gandhi Maidan in
Patna will soon be lit up with colourful lights based on a common theme.
Patna Smart City Private Limited (PSCL), in collaboration with
Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC), has taken up the initiative of illuminating the buildings as part of the PSCL project to beautify Gandhi Maidan. The initiative includes installation of LED lights and painting the tracks.
The theme and design of the project will be laid out by a team comprising members from PSCL, tourism department and a designing firm to be selected after the ongoing bidding process.
Harshita, public relations officer (PRO) of PSCL, told this newspaper on Sunday that the work on project of illuminating the buildings near Gandhi Maidan will start after the selection of the designing firm.
Owners and caretakers of the hotels, private properties and other government buildings surrounding Gandhi Maidan have been instructed by the civic body recently to abide by the theme that will soon be chalked out by the team.
“PMC commissioner Anupam Kumar Suman had recently called a meeting of all the owners and caretakers of the private and government
buildings around Gandhi Maidan to instruct them about the illumination project,” added Harshita.
According to a PSCL press release on Friday, the building which will get the lights as part of the illuminating project will have to bear the cost for the same. As per the press release, the team will just be helping the building authorities with design and lights.
PSCL is also preparing for installing a mega LED video wall in Biscomaun Bhawan. The video wall, to be installed, will be of 12x6 metres. The entire project will cost around Rs22 crore and is expected to get completed before August 15 when the nation will be celebrating Independence day.
