5 booked for thrashing woman

Noida: Five persons have been booked for allegedly beating up a six-month pregnant woman in Kasna last week and threatening her to withdraw a complaint of rape.
The five accused include Vinit Rajbhushan and his nephew Ankit, residents of Dadha village, whom the woman had accused of gang rape and making her pregnant. An FIR was lodged against Vinit and Ankit following a court order in December last year.
The woman alleged that around 10.30pm on May 21, when she was returning home on her scooter, the five accused allegedly hit her with their car and beat her up with sticks and rods. She was admitted to a hospital and her family insisted that she would lodge a written complaint at a police station. The FIR has been lodged under IPC sections 147 (rioting), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 506 (criminal intimidation), among others. TNN
