The City Coordination meeting, organised at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) headquarters on Saturday, decided to halt all road cutting works from May 31, in view of the approaching monsoon.
It was also resolved to finish all road repair and renovation works by June 5.
Nodal officer
Every department, including the GHMC, water board, traffic police, district administration and others, which have stakes in the city, will have to appoint a nodal officer to meet monsoon emergencies, and submit the details to the GHMC Enforcement and Disaster Management wing.
Alternative routes
Identification of alternative routes in case trees fall, spotting buildings and open spaces for shifting residents from low lying areas and removal of over 60 hoardings on Metro Rail corridors, were a few more decisions taken on Saturday, a press release said.
SRDP progress
The meeting also discussed progress of SRDP and other works. GHMC Commissioner M. Dana Kishore, MD of HMRL N.V.S. Reddy and other officials from various departments attended the meeting.
