The fire accident at a coaching centre in Surat reminds me of a similar incident in 2004 at Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu (“Surat coaching centre owner held after fire, toll now 22”, May 26). It is common practice in India to flout safety norms in almost every field and occupation. One needs to praise Ketan Jorawadia for his quick thinking.
