Visa row leaves German cow protector miffed

German national, Friederike Irina Bruning, 61, who was awarded Padma Shri for her contribution to the protection of cows this year, wants to return her award after her application for visa extension for further stay in India was rejected by the MEA.
Speaking to TOI, Bruning aka Sudevi Dasi, who runs a cowshed for sick and abandoned cows in Mathura, said, said that she had applied for extension of her visa, but it was rejected by MEA’s Lucknow office while no reason was cited for this. Her visa is due to expire on June 25.
