People of Telangana have taught a befitting lesson to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao by restricting his party’s score in the Lok Sabha elections to single digit although he was trumpeting about winning 16 seats, senior Congress leader K. Jana Reddy said.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said it was time Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao learnt the lesson taught by the people and give up his dictatorial attitude and put an end to his efforts to encourage defections from other parties.
He alleged that the TRS chief was luring the leaders of other parties, including those elected to Assembly, with view to create a scenario wherein there was no Opposition.
He suggested the TRS leadership to turn its focus on the welfare and development of people instead of spending time trying to weaken the Opposition parties. He demanded that the TRS government fulfil the promises made by it before the December 2018 Assembly elections as the people have given their mandate for it in Parliament elections by cutting the ruling party to size.
Asked whether he would contest from Huzurnagar Assembly seat to be vacated by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy following his election to Lok Sabha from Nalgonda, the former Congress Legislature Party leader said he was never after power and posts all along his political career. He he made it clear that he would not contest from Huzurnagar adding he would have secured party ticket to contest Lok Sabha elections had he been interested.
