Kongu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KMDK) leader E.R.Eswaran said that the historic victory by the DMK-led alliance in the State shows that people were unhappy with both State and Central Governments.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr. Eswaran said the Bharathiya Janatha Party, despite getting such a huge victory in Northern India, was not able to win a single seat here. “This shows that people are unhappy with both the governments and they voted against it,” he said.

He also criticised that the AIADMK, despite having 37 MPs, was not able to fight for the State nor did they bring necessary development schemes for the State.

Mr. Eswaran also said that the results have taught lessons to several political leaders here and hereafter they should exercise decency while speaking about other political leaders.

Mr. Eswaran also alleged that there are doubts regarding AIADMK’s victory in Theni constituency and said that EVKS Elangovan’s doubts may be true as there are news that AIADMK distributed highest amount of cash in the constituency.

He added that the alliance would continue during local body elections as well and the Court should take necessary steps for early conduct of local body elections here. Mr. Eswaran also welcomed Mr. Nithin Gadkari’s statement regarding implementation of Godavari-Cauvery river interlink scheme.
