GHG Khalsa College admissions from July 8

Ludhiana: Guru Hargobind Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, would start handing out its prospectus from June 1, and the last date for the receipt of admission form is June 30. Admission would start from July 8 to 23, which would purely be on merit basis, which will be displayed on the notice board in the first week of July.
College principal Jaswant Singh Goraya said: “For admission, each candidate will have to appear personally with his or her original certificates before the interview committee as per the admission schedule. The required fee must be deposited on the spot, and no claim for admission will be entertained after the interview is over.”
There are 14 subjects to choose from in bachelors. Bachelor degrees have 13 departments and Masters have eight departments. Besides this, NCC-4 air sqn, NCC, and NSS is also there. Students thronging from faraway places can stay in the hostel. The girls hostel has 314 seats and there are 213 seats in the boys hostel.
Vice-principal Gurpreet Kaur Deol said: “We encourage women’s education, and want girl students to study more. The working staff and married women students who have children can keep their kids in Little Angel’s Nest for free. We have provided assistance and toys for them so that they can concentrate on their studies. The college has also integrated BA and B.Ed into a 4-year combined course, which is the most opted for course among students, as otherwise, B.Ed is done separately for two years after BA.”
Scholarships for students
Rajinder Singh Sahil, admission coordinator from the Department of Hindi, said: “A total of 30% scholarships will be given to students securing 80%, and no fee will be taken from university toppers. Students who are meritorious or needy can issue books from the book bank for the entire session. It has more than 3,500 books. Students can access free wi-fi facility.”
The college has produced 4 Olympians, 5 Asian Games winners, 20 national medal winners, and 10 international players. Interestingly, this is the only water sports centre established by Panjab University with the permission of the Irrigation Department of Punjab government, where they can do kayaking, canoeing, and rowing.
