TN man cheated of Rs 56k with foreign job offer

Ghaziabad: A resident of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu filed a complaint at Kavi Nagar police station on Friday after he was alleged ly cheated of Rs 56,000 by some persons under the pretext of providing him a job in a foreign country.

The complainant, B Nizaam, said the matter started on April 5. “I saw a job advertisement on Facebook and called on the given number. I was asked to transfer Rs 56,000 in a bank account and send my passport details. The caller told me that his office is in Ghaziabad’s Raj Nagar District Centre. The caller told me that within 20 days, I will get a job abroad,” he said.
When Nizaam did not get any job, he came to Ghaziabad on Wednesday but did not find any such office, which is when he came to the cops. The callers were booked for cheating and breach of trust. “An FIR has been lodged against the same accused. We will arrest the accused soon,” said Rajkumar Sharma, the SHO of Kavi Nagar of police station.
