2 bike-borne men snatch Rs 4,000, phone from Burail resident

CHANDIGARH: Two bike-borne miscreants snatched cash and mobile phone from a resident of Burail village on Thursday midnight. Sector 34 police have registered a case against unknown person and started probe.
Complainant Ruksad, a resident of Burail village said while he was returning home on foot at around 12 midnight, two masked men riding a motorcycle forcibly stopped near him near Gugga Maari temple. The accused allegedly snatched his mobile phone and purse which he says contains Rs 4,000 and other documents. The accused then fled the spot.

He raised the alarm and with the help of passersby, cops were informed about the incident. Cops from Burail police post reached the spot and launched search operation in the area. Cops also laid a check post in the area to nab the accused, however the accused managed to flee the area.
Police recorded Ruksad’s statement and registered a case under sections of the Indian penal Code (IPC) against unknown persons and started probe. Cops are scrutinizing the CCTVs installed in the area to get clue of the accused.
