NEW DELHI: Three men have been arrested for robbing a dairy businessman on the pretext of conducting a hawan to ward of evil spirits at his house in Najafgarh.
During the hawan, they asked the businessman to walk to a road crossing outside his house along with the money to complete the rituals. When he reached the spot, three men held him at gunpoint and fled with the bag containing Rs 11 lakh.
The accused got in a car to flee with the cash, but in the hurry the driver crashed the vehicle into a tree. In the meantime, the businessman raised an alarm and informed police who chased the accused and caught one of them, Krishan. "Krishan disclosed the location of the other two accused, Yaqub Shah and Wazid," said DCP (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse.
A country-made pistol and some cartridges were seized from them.
