Indore: LLB sixth semester students, on whose request examination paper scheduled on June 1 was cancelled, reached Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) on Friday seeking change in the timetable once again. They said that the date of “Land Law” subject paper which was fixed on June 8 should be changed as CS paper is also scheduled on the same date. Earlier, this “Land Law” subject paper was scheduled on June 1 but it was cancelled and rescheduled on June 8 on the request of LLB students.
The date of paper was changed as the students had said that UPSC preliminary exam is scheduled on June 2 and many of them had chosen centres outside Indore. Two days after their request was met, the students reached the university demanding change in the same paper’s date once again. They said that “Land Law” subject paper date is clashing with CS paper date. Initially, the university denied accepting their request but agreed to consider the same after vice chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad directed for the same. As per rules of Bar Council of India, law students cannot pursue two courses at the same time. “If students are seeking change in law exam dates citing CS exams then it reveals that they are pursing two courses at the same time. As per the rule we can cancel their enrolment but we are not doing that in the interest of students,” a university officer stated.
