Call to curb air pollution menace in Patna

PATNA: Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB) on Saturday held a cycle rally in the city in the run up to the World Environment Day to be observed on June 5.
Senior BSPCB officials said the cycle rally was held to spread awareness among people on air pollution, which is the theme of this year’s World Environment Day.
The rally was flagged off by BSPCB chairman Ashok Kumar Ghosh from group headquarters of National Cadet Corps at Rajendra Nagar. It culminated at Kumhrar Park. Altogether 125 NCC cadets participated in the rally.
A street play – ‘Zamama Badlega’ – was also organised. The audience appreciated the message on air pollution given through the street play.

The street play was written by Kundan Kumar and directed by Vijeyendra Kumar. It was performed by Sabia Khaton, Pooja Raj, Nandu, Abhishek Raj (drum player), Rahul Ranjan, Rohit Chandra and Kunal Kumar.
Later, stickers with messages like ‘care for air’ and ‘swach vayu: lambi aayu’ were pasted on around 1,500 vehicles passing through the road.
