Ludhiana: The city became witness to a fashion spectacle of chic and trendy clothing curated by designers from across the country as Riwaz India Fashion Carnival made its debut in Ludhiana during a two-day event at Park Plaza on Thursday and Friday.
Bringing over 30 exhibitors on a common platform, event organizer Leena Naresh Vatnani said, “People always welcome latest trends. Clothes are the strongest form of expression and what you wear says a lot about your personality. These exhibitors brought their most creative designs and trendsetting collection for this fashion carnival.”
The event also showcased designs by Bollywood actress and Big Boss 7 winner Gauhar Khan under the title Gauharageous.
Khan told TOI, “Ludhiana is always warm and hospitable, but it is my first exhibition in the city. I started working on the designs last year. I feel if anybody wants to start any venture, they need to be responsible about whatever they do.”
Advising budding designers, she said, “Always work hard and focus on your dream as putting efforts in the right direction is the key to achieving success.”
Richa Ranawat, another designer from Mumbai and a first-time exhibitor, said, “Ludhiana is crazy about fashion. Most of the designers pick up styles from the North because they are open to experimenting new styles and cuts. That’s why I wanted to present my collection here.”
The collection is armed a sense of style and whiff of subtle confidence with affordable pricing, said Shelly Malhotra, a visitor from National Road.
Delhi-based designer Sakshi Kathuria said, “The summer festive for bridal attire are pastel colours with the amalgamation of thread work, sequence in medium tones. Gone are the days when they used to wear lehenga and choli.”
