Vadodara: In the wake of the Surat fire tragedy on Friday, the district administration and city police on Saturday issued public notification on closing down of all tuition and coaching classes in Vadodara district and city with effect from Friday midnight till July 23.
The notifications were issued by the district collector Shalini Agrawal and the city police commissioner Anupam Singh Gahlaut banning operation of such classes in all residential as well as commercial complexes in the city and other areas in Vadodara district. The ban has been enforced as a part of preventive measure. However, during the ban period if the operators get NOC from the fire department after submission of proof of having fire-fighting equipment in their premises and training of how to use them, the authorities will rethink on the imposed ban of such institutions.
“The public notification is part of a preventive measure wherein we will conduct checks along with Vadodara Municipal Corporation and in coordination with other agencies. Whoever will be found violating this notification will have to face legal action and if need be we will also register FIR against the erring class owners,” said deputy commissioner of police Deepak Meghani.
All officials and 21 police stations have been directed to conduct checks in their jurisdictions and act against those violating the rules. On Saturday, inspectors held meetings with class owners at their respective police stations to explain them about the ban and direct them to get NOC and comply all rules.
