Coimbatore: The three walls of the Coonoor Railway Station have been painted with scenes from the Western Ghats.
Painting of elephants, peacocks, tigers and waterfalls adorn the walls of the elevated surface, which displays a heritage steam locomotive.
“A lot of students visit the station. They are fascinated by the Western Ghats and wildlife,” said a railway official. “We also believe that the paintings will improve the look of the station,” he said.

The railway engaged a Kerala-based artist to make the walls and surroundings colourful at a cost of Rs 4.5lakh.
