18-year-old girl hangs self in Bundi district

KOTA: An 18-year-old girl, student of class XII, on Friday committed suicide by hanging self from the ceiling fan of her room in Lesarda village under Keshoraipatan police station area of Bundi district. Family members of the deceased alleged a local youth of harassing her. They have lodged a case of abetment to suicide against him.
“The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Kandara,” said SHO, Keshoraipatan police station. The reason behind suicide is yet to be ascertained as no suicide note was found. However, the girl’s family alleged a local youth of teasing her frequently on her way to school and coaching institute, he added. A case of abetment to suicide under Section 306 of IPC has been lodged against the accused, identified as Amit Sen and probe has begun, SHO said. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem. TNN
