RRB Bhubaneswar exams 2019 rescheduled for technical problem

BHUBANESWAR: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Bhubaneswar on Saturday rescheduled computer based test for candidates appearing at two examination centres in Khurda area for posts of junior engineers (JE), junior engineers (IT) and depot material superintendent (DMS).

The board came up with such notification after computers of candidates developed technical glitch while the first stage of test was going on. Even students shouted at the officials of the examination centre- Bhubaneswar Institute of Industrial Technology (BIIT), Janla, for not holding the tests appropriately.

“After witnessing first stage problem, we rescheduled the examinations of Saturday’s second and third stages scheduled to be held at BIIT. Expecting any technical issues, we also postponed the Saturday tests of the centre at Einstein Academy. But the tests at other six centres at Khurda, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack were conducted successfully,” said Subrat Sarkar, chairman of RRB Bhubaneswar.

He said the revised date, time and venue of the tests will be intimated to candidates through SMS and email. They will also publish the date and time of the test in the website of RRB Bhubaneswar, he added.

Hue and cry was created in the centre after the candidates found technical problem in the computer systems. Even they expressed anger for repeated power cut and mismanagement of the examination. “I came from Bihar to appear for the examination. But here I saw the pathetic situation. I do not have money to stay here for long time for the interview. I have to go home and return Odisha after date is declared for my test,” said an irate candidate.

A centre holds three tests (90-minute each) every day. It comprises 100 questions and for every incorrect answer, one third of marks will be deducted. RRB Bhubaneswar holds this all India tests at eight centres in Odisha. Other boards have centres at Rourkela and Balasore. These tests have been started from May 22 and continue till June 2. More than 25 lakh students including 5000 from Odisha have applied for over 13,800 posts.
