New Delhi: State-owned power generator NTPC Ltd today announced its Profit After Tax (PAT) jumped 20 per cent to Rs 12,633 crore last financial year (2018-19) as against Rs 10,501 crore posted in the previous fiscal.

Total income of the company grew 8.8 per cent to Rs 97,537 crore last fiscal as compared to Rs 89,641 crore registered in 2017-18. “The gross generation of NTPC Group for FY19 was 305.90 Billion units as against 294.27 Billion units during the previous year,” the company said in a statement.

On a standalone basis – without taking into account the performance of other companies within the NTPC Group – PAT grew 13.5 per cent to Rs 11,749 crore in 2018-19 from Rs 10,343 crore in 2017-18. Also, total standalone income grew 8.1 per cent to Rs 92,179 crore.

NTPC is the country’s largest power generator and, along with its group companies, operates a total installed electricity generation capacity of 55,126 Megawatt.
