Samsung reportedly in talks with Apple to supply OLED displays for 16-inch MacBook Pro and future iPad Pro

The new report has surfaced just a month after the notable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo talked about the launch of new Apple devices in a report. Kuo stated that the company might launch a new iPad with 10 or 12-inch screen in late 2020 or early 2021, and a MacBook with 15 to 17-inch screen size in the first half of 2021. These devices were also said to come equipped with mini-LED panels, which is a display technology that covers a larger colour space and is touted to deliver local dimming features with high dynamic range and contrast. Additionally, the analyst said the company will also announce a 31.6-inch display in either the second or third quarter this year. 

As always, there’s no confirmation or hint by Apple whether it is planning to launch new devices in the near future. So, we suggest you take the info with a pinch of salt since the company could change its plans. Apple also refreshed its 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops and they now come equipped with 8th and 9th Gen Intel Core processors. Apple claims that the updated MacBook Pros will deliver “two times faster performance than a quad-core MacBook Pro and 40 percent more performance than a 6-core MacBook Pro”.  

Along with new processors, Apple is also aiming to address the keyboard problems its MacBook users have been complaining about. The material employed in the keyboard’s butterfly mechanism has been changed and is said to reduce the problems users were facing previously. The new 13.3-inch version of the MacBook Pro now features an LED-backlit IPS display with a 2560x1600p resolution and 227 PPI of pixel density.
